——Ambassador Jiang Xuebin of the People’s Republic of China to Türkiye and his entourage inspected and offered condolences to the Türkiye Drilling Project of Xinjiang Kunlun Petroleum Group
(Kunlun Petroleum Group News) From September 23 to 24, 2026, during his visit to Batman Province and surrounding areas, Jiang Xuebin, Chinese Ambassador to Türkiye, showed deep concern over the development of Chinese energy enterprises in Türkiye. He held a special meeting with senior management of Türkiye Petrolleri Anonim Ortaklığı (TPAO). Ambassador Jiang also went deep into the site of the drilling project of Xinjiang Kunlun Petroleum Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Xinjiang Kunlun Petroleum Group”) for inspection and guidance, and extended warm greetings to Chinese and Turkish employees working on the frontline of overseas production.
Minister Counsellor Li Bin and Counsellor Zhou Meifen from the Chinese Embassy accompanied the visit. Li Xi, Chairman of Xinjiang Kunlun Petroleum Group, and Yu Ke, General Manager, accompanied the whole tour and delivered a special briefing.
01--Visit the Employer’s Headquarters, Build Consensus to Pursue Common Development
On the evening of September 23, Ambassador Jiang Xuebin and his entourage, together with Li Xi, Chairman of Xinjiang Kunlun Petroleum Group, Yu Ke, General Manager, and other representatives, visited the Batman Headquarters of Türkiye Petroleum Corporation (TPAO). They met with the Batman Regional General Manager of TPAO and relevant project principals, held in-depth talks and took group photos.
Ambassador Jiang pointed out that Batman and its surrounding areas constitute an important energy base of Türkiye, and there are broad prospects for practical energy cooperation between China and Türkiye. The principals of the Turkish employer extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Jiang and his entourage, and spoke highly of the technical expertise and performance capability of the project team from Xinjiang Kunlun Petroleum Group. Both sides agreed to further deepen communication and coordination to deliver more outcomes from regional energy cooperation.
02--Go Deep into Drilling Frontlines, Conduct On-site Inspection with Sincere Care
On September 24, Ambassador Jiang Xuebin and his entourage visited the drilling construction site of Xinjiang Kunlun Petroleum Group. Beneath the drilling tower dozens of meters high, Ambassador Jiang’s group went deep into the well site and operation platform, conducting on-site checks on the operation of drilling equipment, implementation of work safety measures and on-site construction progress.
Li Xi, Chairman of Xinjiang Kunlun Petroleum Group, and Yu Ke, General Manager, briefed Ambassador Jiang in detail on the application of drilling technologies, operational specifications and safety protection measures for frontline staff of the company’s projects in Türkiye.
Ambassador Jiang spoke highly of the professional technical strength, refined management and efficient execution demonstrated by Xinjiang Kunlun Petroleum Group overseas. He extended sincere greetings to all Chinese and Turkish employees who have long been stationed at the overseas construction frontline. He stressed that work safety is the lifeline of overseas projects. Enterprises must always uphold the bottom-line awareness of safety, earnestly safeguard employees’ rights and interests as well as their safety. Meanwhile, the company should actively fulfill social responsibilities and showcase the outstanding competence and good image of Chinese energy enterprises.
03--Heartening Discussions and Exchanges, All Staff Are Greatly Inspired
During the visit, Ambassador Jiang and his entourage held an informal and cordial discussion at the project camp with the leadership of Xinjiang Kunlun Petroleum Group and Chinese and Turkish staff representatives of the project. Ambassador Jiang carefully listened to the report on the project’s work safety and staff livelihood support. He encouraged all to build on past achievements and advance the safe, stable and high-quality implementation of the project.
Ambassador Jiang’s thoughtful care and earnest instructions greatly inspired and energized all Chinese and Turkish employees of the project. On behalf of all staff of Xinjiang Kunlun Petroleum Group, Chairman Li Xi expressed sincere gratitude to the Embassy for its consistent concern and guidance. The company’s leadership stated that Xinjiang Kunlun Petroleum Group will earnestly implement the requirements put forward by the Embassy, always prioritize work safety, push forward project construction with high standards and high efficiency, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with the Turkish employer, and serve the overall Belt and Road energy cooperation initiative with concrete actions.
